Woolworth Building Tour

Flushing Walking Tour

Description: The tour will cover the development of Flushing, from the ancestral Lenape tribe lands, the Dutch and English settlers, and myriad people of all horizons and backgrounds that made Queens their home, and their place in New York and US history. We will cover such varied topics as horticulture, the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution, the prominent and oft-forgotten role of women in shaping our society, and African-American contributions to science, as we navigate the teaming streets of commercial Flushing and wander through quieter streets to several historical buildings and spots. The tour will end in the heart of downtown Flushing, a “mecca” for Chinese food.

Our Mass Transit City Walking Tour

Description: Experience how well over a million people commute daily into Manhattan’s Central Business District (below 60th  Street), mostly by train and bus, through an exclusive tour of the city’s three main transit hubs—Penn Station, the Port Authority Bus Terminal and Grand Central Terminal. The tour will focus on traveling between these facilities via the NYC Subway while discussing the history of these facilities, how they serve the vast NY area, and what the future might hold in terms of renovations and/or replacements of Penn Station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
