I have been leading literary and history walking tours of New York City since 1999. My company is Big Apple Fanatics Tours. My tours: Governors Island, 1920s Literarture and Broadway (midtown, Hell's Kitchen, Times Square, Rock Center), Dorothy Parker's Upper West Side, Babe Ruth Slept Here (Morningside Heights to Upper West Side), East Village Dive Bar History, and Cypress Hills National Cemetery.
I am the author of World War I New York: A Guide to the City’s Enduring Ties to the Great War, The Governors Island Explorer's Guide, A Journey into Dorothy Parker’s New York, The Algonquin Round Table New York: A Historical Guide, and three other books linked to New York history. My walks are tied to Jazz Age New York, Prohibition & Speakeasies, Military History, and Cocktails.
I served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1984-1989. I’m a member of The Lambs, the Long Island Living History Association, the Genealogy Society of America, and the WW1 Centennial Committee for New York City. When I give tours of Cypress Hills National Cemetery, I wear a World War I Army uniform. I live on the Upper West Side and on Shelter Island, NY.
