After being a teacher and training performance consultant for many years, I decided to take a chance and do freelance theater writing. So, in 2009, I began writing and contributing regularly to an online publication. The more I wrote, the more I realized how much I enjoyed sharing my experiences with other people to help them learn more about the joys of going to the theater.
I have always liked to bring out of town guests to New York City. One day, someone said to me “You ought to be a tour guide.” That remark got me thinking of how I could combine my love of theater and a way to share it with people right in the heart of New York. So now that I am a licensed guide, my specialties are the Theater District including both Broadway and Off-Broadway. My tours include information and stories about the area, what shows are playing, and how to get the best prices on tickets. If you enjoy including a meal either before or after the show, I can help you find lots of places in Times Square, the Broadway neighborhood, and Hell’s Kitchen.
I live in New Jersey so I’m part of the “bridge and tunnel” crowd. My experience with getting in and out of Manhattan can help those staying in the Meadowlands area of New Jersey. I offer special tours and programs in that area.
