About
Jeff Riback is a native New Yorker – born and raised in Queens, but now a long-term resident of Manhattan's Upper East Side. With family roots in Brooklyn and The Bronx to boot, he has even been known to visit Staten Island. An experienced sightseeing guide (and a retired attorney), Jeff has an "exemplary" guide rating from the City’s Department of Consumer Affairs.
New York City's history is a tale of neighborhoods that rise, fall, and are invariably refashioned. By subway, and on foot, Jeff will introduce you to that history, those neighborhoods, and the sights, photo ops, and ethnic foods (from Arepas to Ziti) that only come with a local's knowledge and experience. Whether you’re visiting New York for the first or 15th time, Jeff is eager to share with you his love of the City, its history, and the ever-changing character of its many neighborhoods.
Jeff – who in another life would have made a pretty awesome history professor – holds an undergraduate degree, with honors in American Studies, from Cornell. He is a former assistant general counsel for power infrastructure and the environment at Con Edison, New York City's electric, gas, and steam utility, where he spent the better part of his legal career making sure, and learning how, the lights stay on.
Come see the “Big Apple” with a native New Yorker’s eyes. You’ll have a truly unforgettable experience.
