I'm a gold-star licensed guide specializing in early American Jewish History when 23 refugees arrived in New Amsterdam in September, 1654.  On my tour, you'll learn about the journey of the first Jewish community in North America, their struggle to stay, to worship, Peter Stuyvesant, pirates and more.  You'll also learn about famous members of the community through the Colonial period and beyond, including songs and poetry of the community which continues to this day.  I have been a member of the community for twenty years and have studied the history and am passionate about giving this tour.  The walking tour meets during the spring, summer and fall.  Special tours of the first Jewish cemetery can be arranged, and tours of the synagogue are available all year long.  Private and group tours.
