GANYC Lifetime Achievement Award Winner James Turrell's Skyscape piece, Meeting, Returns to MOMA PS1
GANYC is excited to welcome back James Turrell's artistic vision to New York City! Turrell was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural GANYC Apple Awards in 2015. One of Turrell’s celebrated Skyspaces, "Meeting" returned to MoMA PS1 in Queens on October after being a three-year renovation/restoration. Welcome back to New York and congratulations, James!
The GANYC Apple Awards celebrate and honor those who encourage and promote New York City tourism, culture and preservation while supporting the work and contributions of professional tourist guides.
The 2017 GANYC Apple Awards will take place on Monday, March 6 at the SVA Theater in New York. Nominees will be announced in December, and voted upon by GANYC's member tourist guides. The winners, along with our third Lifetime Achievement Award honoree, will be announced at the gala ceremony. The event is open to the public and tickets will go on sale shortly.
