Patrick Casey

Thank you for taking the time to read my GANYC Board bio.
I joined GANYC three years ago to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience of over three hundred profressional guides. Our's is a strong and exciting group with so many areas of expertise and style.
The other beneficial aspect of GANYC is that it is a group in need of people to keep the forward movement moving forward. My first service was on the Election Committee, first as worker bee then as Chair. Ethics came next, as we defined our responsibilities out there in the world and our expecations from the tourism industry.
The next chapter is on the Board. I was not elected but instead nominated to fill out the term of another Board member whose professional life took her out of state. I was elected to serve as Co-Secretary in December 2019.
My long view for GANYC is local, first. We need to continue expanding our membership and bring as many of the licensed guides into our fold. Our Fam tours build our knowledge base. Our Certification programs expands our skill sets. Nationally, GANYC will be the lead player in the developement of a single set of standards similar to what is in place in the UK, Costa Rica and Spain, among others.
The Greatest City in the World has the Greatest Guides. We are uniquely placed to lead our industry. It is both an obligation and a privilege to be asked to serve.
My GANYC email is available if you have any questions or concerns, secretary@ganyc.org
