GANYC Advocates for Vendor Ban on Brooklyn Bridge

We are very proud that footage shot recently by GANYC PR Chairman Jeremy Wilcox was used as part of a NY1 story on a proposed ban of vendors on the Brooklyn Bridge. GANYC has been sounding the alarm over this issue for months, as some areas have more than half the walkway taken over by unlicensed vendors, creating a myriad of problems, safety not the least of them. Some vendors even went so far as to sell alcohol and other products without a license.

As the DOT noted, “The Brooklyn Bridge has been called America’s Eiffel Tower, and it’s important that all New Yorkers and the millions of people who visit our city each year can enjoy it without impediments to safety and pedestrian mobility.”

We urge all members to contact their City Council member in support of the proposed new regulations.
